Who do we work with?
Hustle Hive may be right for young people in Years 6 to 11 who would benefit from a smaller, practical and highly structured learning environment as part of an agreed education plan.
- Young people who are disengaging from mainstream learning, or whose attendance and participation are becoming a concern.
- Learners who respond well to practical, project-based and vocationally relevant activities.
- Young people who need to rebuild confidence, routine, motivation and positive relationships with adults.
- Learners who may benefit from a smaller group and a calmer environment than a busy mainstream classroom.
- Young people whose objectives include improving engagement, communication, independence, practical skills or readiness for reintegration or transition.
How we decide suitability
Suitability is considered individually. A referral isn't accepted just because a place is available: we need enough information about a learner's education, safeguarding, health, behaviour and support needs to be sure we can meet them safely and effectively.
Our small size means we can adapt day to day, but it doesn't mean we can meet every level of SEND, medical or behavioural need. Where specialist input is needed, we work with the commissioner and relevant professionals.
Accessibility: our Denmark Street premises is not currently wheelchair accessible. Accessibility, reasonable adjustments and any personal-care needs are considered carefully during referral.
Alternative Provision
Our alternative provision is designed to meet the needs of young people who may find conventional schooling challenging. We use a hands-on approach that brings together STEM, outdoor education and creative projects, from 3D printing and engineering to digital media.
Our dedicated educators work closely with students, making sure they get the individual attention they need to build confidence and skills, and prepare for future opportunities.
